Staufen is a village situated at the edge of the Black Forest about 20 km south of Freiburg. The village is famous for its spectacular castle ruins and the BDB Music Academy.
The BDB-Music Academy is the main educational facility for the Bund Deutscher Blasmusikverbände (German brass music confederation). Its syllabus includes a wide variety of educational programmes.

Orchestra hall
The Facilities include a large acoustically designed rehearsal hall and new seminar rooms. The dormitories have 2,3 or 4 beds.
The Academy is very small and situated in a residential area of the village, for this reason the free-time activities will take place in and around Staufen. Please click on this link to see some wonderful photographs of Freiburg and the Black forest.: Foto-Raach
